There was a high spirit on Tuesday when Emmelev A/S received its two new trucks, both running on biodiesel.
Emmelev: The Green Business Adventure
The green business adventure for the long-established milling enterprise near Otterup, Emmelev A/S, continues to expand. In addition to planning a 9,000 m² expansion with the Nordfyns Municipality to make biodiesel production even greener, the company also added two new, environmentally-friendly trucks to its fleet on Tuesday.
These new additions are two Scania trucks that will run on biodiesel produced by Danish farmers, according to a press release from Emmelev A/S. Representatives from the company gathered at Krumtappen 2 in Odense S on Tuesday to officially collect the trucks.
“We are super happy about the collaboration. There is a demand from all parts of society for more climate-friendly solutions. For those of us involved in heavy transport, it is essential to drive more climate-friendly,” said Morten Simonsen, director and co-owner of Emmelev A/S.
Since 2002, Emmelev A/S has been among the leading producers of biodiesel in Europe. In addition to biodiesel, the company also manufactures and sells rapeseed cakes for feed, glycerin, and rapeseed oil.
The former Minister of Climate and Energy, Rasmus Helveg Petersen, was also present at the official handover of the new trucks. “I think it’s the best solution on the market. There is a long road ahead for the green transition, and heavy trucks are particularly challenging. They will be the last to switch to electricity,” said Rasmus Helveg Petersen after he was the first to fill biodiesel into the new Scania trucks.
