A 72% reduction

Yes, Danish rapeseed reduces CO2 emissions by 72% compared to fossil fuels.

And it’s getting even better: About 10% of ourproduction is advanced biofuel with a greenhouse gas reduction of close to 100%!

In Denmark, the consumption of diesel for public transport alone is over 150 million liters per year. If this fossil oil is replaced by biodiesel, the CO2 reduction could be up to 300,000 tons per year.

We are a circular producer in the biofuel value chain by producing RME biodiesel from rapeseed and commercializing all secondary products.

We sustainably source local rapeseed, process it into high-quality RME biodiesel and ensure every byproduct is repurposed. Our operations minimize waste and reduce carbon footprints, supporting a circular economy. From biofuel to livestock feed and glycerin, we maximize the value of each product in our chain.

Toward a fossil-free future

Part of the solution in the green transition is for fossil fuels to go. Non-renewable resources like natural gas and fossil diesel need to be replaced with hydrogen and electricity.

But we’re not there yet – and we probably won’t be for the next 20-30 years. Until then, renewable biofuel like our RME biodiesel is necessary to effectively reduce CO2 emissions here and now.

Road transport accounts for 20% of all CO2 emissions. But the large engines in cars, buses, tractors and lorries – recently even ships – that run on diesel oil today can run on 100% biodiesel made from Danish rapeseed.

No technical changes needed. No reduced efficiency of the engine. And you could refuel directly from our production. It’s the fastest and easiest way to reduce CO2 emissions.

The objective

EmmeIev's main objective with the production of biodiesel is to be able to offer the market a suitable, liquid, non-fossil fuel for the transport and energy industry.

Our commitment

Emmelev will live up to all the rules for the environment and working environment that are expected of a modern company, and in doing so will take into account employees, local communities, other affected companies such as suppliers and customers.

Emmelev's management will annually designate areas of action to seek further improvements in CSR and Sustainability.

Emmelev will, where possible, make reasonable demands on its subcontractors that they live up to the Global Goals.

ISO 50000 certified

Emmelev is ISO 50000 certified for its own energy consumption.

CO2 Displacement compliance

Emmelev will still be a fully certified company that satisfies the rules that apply to determining a CO2 displacement for the products that are delivered. For all suppliers of i.a. biodiesel, a harmonized EU regulation applies, which determines the CO2 displacement. (2009/28/EC ). With its biodiesel production, Emmelev will continue to live up to a CO2 displacement of no less than 60%.
